Imagine Design Center
This interactive web-based application enables the customer to visualize every Hunter Douglas window fashion in its full-range of colors, fabrics, and constructions.
The Challenge
Our research showed that consumers–eager for proof they were making a smart and stylish investment–wanted to preview the window fashions up close, in detail, and in room settings.
My Role
I conducted the product and user research, created all of the wireframes, flowcharts, and interaction diagrams, wrote the functional specifications, ran the usability testing, and worked closely with the graphic design team as they created the visual elements of the interface.

The Wireframes
The wireframes for this project are circa 2006 and were designed in Visio, which was a popular UX design tool at the time. The these wireframes are final screenshots from the functional specifications.

Visual Design
The visual design was a collaboration between myself and the graphic design department. I would work with the graphic designer to ensure that the visual designs they created matched up to the primary interactions shown in the wireframes.

Video Demo
This video is was taken after I was involved in the project and new features were added. For example, the "adding photos" and "masking objects" shown in the beginning of the video was a feature that was added later. I have configured the video embed below to skip over those features.

The Result
After the launch we found that visitors were twice as likely to engage in intent to purchase activities, like searching for a dealer. This site also won five awards, including OMMA for Website Excellence.
